It’s amazing how quickly time flies. It’s already two years since our last successful exhibition and now our next one is nearly here. It’s our 7th exhibition working together and our 2nd at Artspace gallery in Woodbridge.
As you can imagine we have our heads down designing, innovating and sewing madly to produce an exciting and eclectic body of work. Our inspiration has come from all over the place. The natural world in the different places we live provides lots of inspiration with different techniques and materials being used to achieve our desired results. Some of us travel further afield to broaden our horizons.
Trudie is our most adventurous and tells stories of her travels abroad on her bike. Ed, though living in town, often finds her ideas from her local woods, greenery and rivers. Both Marion and Mandy love to explore the countryside around where they live which results in rurally inspired scenes. Tres and Sue enjoy visiting exhibitions and are often influenced by architectural and artistic styles to create more abstract pieces.
Our new exhibition focuses on the theme of childhood and will be entitled “Unforgotten Times”. We are looking to explore aspects of our own lives in some of our work and wellingtons, sisters, rabbits, toy boxes and the Snow Queen will all feature. Alongside our childhood memories there will be lots of other different ideas showcased.
Last time we had a great time at our exhibition, welcoming and talking to interesting visitors. We felt very inspired by the comments and enthusiasm shown by so many people who were drawn into the gallery to have a view and we look forward to the opportunity to repeat the experience this year.
