A FEAST FOR THE EYES!
A trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum during the summer was the highlight of a few days holiday in the capital city of London
A fascinating array of fashion featuring some amazing printed fabrics. The history of the different countries making up the continent of Africa shone through the textiles. A lot of geometric designs and a lot of block printing. A feast for the eye. Dramatic designs of different items of clothing and some intricate embroidery.

What was interesting was the diversity of the visitors which included people of all ages and nationalities. The history of the growth of the textile industry in Africa was shown through a series of very interesting videos. These gave you the background to the development of African fashion through they history of Africa’s different nations.

The colours were beautiful and you could feel the heat off the sun radiating from some of the pieces.
