A visit to Anglesey Abbey, near Cambridge, has filled my head with ideas for future textile work. As architecture and the natural world are the main inspiration for most of my pieces, the Abbey certainly gave me lots of varied ideas.
What should I start with? Perhaps a view of part of the actual house. Maybe one of the wooden doors or the old leaded windows.
Maybe an old tree that has been struck by lightning or one of the many colourful flowers to be found in the garden borders.
Whatever time of year I visit this wonderful place there is so much to see and so many people enjoying the house and grounds. When you visit our next exhibition you may see a piece of work inspired by this visit.
